Rods from God.

I’ve been thinking again; the conclusion is unsettling. I don’t think I can save the world. We appear to be heading right back into the same minefield of regime change that justifies something I read in Mad Magazine sixty years ago: “The price of peace is eternal warfare.” We have a big ocean between us and those violent humans that want to destroy each other to achieve peace. But technology is shrinking geography and electro-biomechanical intelligence is introducing a new age where the political beneficiarie$ of warfare could succeed in bringing the wolf to our door.

I was not very old when Dwight Eisenhower delivered his esoteric Military Industrial Complex speech and frankly, most who listened had no idea what he was talking about. We are getting a lesson now in practical application. These Bunker Busters are dropped from the edge of the stratosphere and remotely steered with deadly precision. They use the Earth’s gravity to achieve kinetic velocity beyond imagination. They can penetrate soil and rock like a knife through warm butter. We, the humans on the correct side of what is right apparently, engineered these things make the world better? Well, I guess the good humans must show the bad humans what is right. It is a techno-scientific method, high-impact behavior modification if you will. This has not worked out well in our history, but we keep doing it.

I think our experiment is on the verge of ending and we, the subjects of the experiment, have been deemed to be a failed example of an attempt to create an intelligent lifeform.

Nope. The skies are all clear in the US. Nothing but good weather forcasted in the future. :dunno:
No cure for cancer, fellow humans starve, mind slavery just waiting for revenge-those are your clear skies?

Sounds like 3rd world problems to me. Everything is great in the US. :dunno:

You think the rain can't fall on you?
Ok then.
In a nuclear exchange, most of the rain will fall on the continental United States in the Western hemisphere. The argument with Iran is what their intentions are. Their mullahs are an angry sect.

Now we will be the target.

So we should all kowtow to them instead of removing them?
Just telling you what we will receive. We added new nations to NATO. We eliminated most of the buffer zones with Russia. So, Finland is the neighbor of Russia. If they have a skirmish, we enter the fray. Just saying.

The last time regime change worked was Japan.

Romania did ok after the Ceausescu's got an early Christmas present.

Another voice out of history said; "The purpose of war is a better peace."
Probably for the one who started the war, but not always the case.
When one nation attacks/invades another nation, but that nation attacked/invaded doesn't fight back, do you have a "war"?*

Kinetic velocity is not beyond imagination. It can be calculated. Needs to be calculated to steer and guide a projectile to it's target.

BTW, those "rods from god" don't have to be tungsten. Asteroids and meteors impacting Earth are also "rods from god" so to speak. And there in lies a solution for what to make designed "rods from god" look and act like.

Speaking of kinetic weapons, a fist into a face is application of a kinetic weapon(the fist) to a target (the face). Most to nearly all weapons are kinetic in the broadest sense.

My 120 pound wife won't stand much chance barehanded against a 250 pound male that might try to attack, assault, rape her. Put a pistol in her hand and she has a great equalizer. Weapons aren't bad on their own, it's how they are used that determines such.

Who said we humans are an experiment?
Look at nature and the history of evolution and it's the more aggressive and vicious fauna that survive in most cases. Especially when against other aggressive and vicious fauna.

You are sitting in a comfortable shelter with electric light, running water, indoor toilet, food you likely didn't have to grow or kill yourself to eat. And in front of a computer instead of a wood fire in a cave with maybe with a bit of animal hide covering part of your body.

I'd say, all things considered, we humans have done pretty well as intelligent lifeform, given what are species' origin seems to have been.

* - Not a trick question, but answer is in another post.

Jury still out whether cancer can be cured. Though you didn't say which cancer out of many you have in mind.

"fellow humans starve" has always been a situation, for many reasons~causes.
What are you personally doing about it?
Have you feed any starving lately ?

Not sure what you are on about with "mind slavery" or what it's revenge is. You might want to elaborate and clarify a bit on that.

Overall, it isn't the USA's responsibility to fix all that's wrong in the world. Especially when most of such was that way centuries before the USA came along, and there are many other nations on this planet that could do much more on those problems/issues you mention and hint at.

The last time regime change worked was Japan.
Vietnam as in North regime changing the South regime (absorbing it) is a more recent example of having worked by one definition.

There's the rub with using such a vague and generic term. There are different ways to change regimes and different types of results to seek in doing so.

I voted for the president. I understand the mentality of preventing religious zealotry from wiping out the human race. But let's look at what this might unleash. No one is gullible enough to believe that our country, especially after the failed, corrupted administration that recently went down, is not loaded with sleeper cells that are now activated. What could be done is limited only by the imaginations of lunatics that were brought over here by the Biden Administration and its minions in education and civic politics.

Food supplies, water supplies, the electric grid, electronic banking systems, the internet, etc. The economy is on fragile footing as it is. Before we start having parades we better think about what may be coming that will make 911 look tame.

Root them out and kill them.
