I got a call this morning from a friend who's played his amps over the years.

I got to play through a few of his amps over the years. A friend of mine who works at Rudy's in Soho has an Overdrive Special, and it's ungodly. They're ridiculously nice amplifiers, but the prices of them are stratospheric. I don't know that the point of diminishing returns doesn't occur at a much lower price point, though...

He is widely regarded as the best tube amp builder ever. He modified a 70's Marshall JMP for me back in the day. To fund my move to Oregon, I easily sold it for $28,000 cash. He was that good. And an awesome human being, too.
