As is par for the course many Republicans are backing the Trump administration's condemnation and persecution of those six Democrat members of Congress, five of whom are veterans, who made the video telling members of the armed forces they have the right to disobey unlawful orders. Nothing is wrong here first off the speech is protected by the Constitution's protection of "Free Speech" and secondly these Democrat members of Congress were only reciting the law! One criticism of these Republicans is why did these Democrats make this video now why is such a video needed now? One reason is that as President Trump's term of office unfolds President Trump is showing himself, especially of late, to be completely unreliable in matters of principles he is showing himself to be a President capable of anything. President Trump's Truth Social post addressed to Pam Bondi where he expressed displeasure with the lack of charges being brought against former FBI Director James Comey, Senator Adam Schiff and NY Attorney General Letitia James and wrote "Justice must be served now"; President Trump sullied the reputation of the Department of Justice here their precious reputation that they are above politics where they just enforce the law with political blinders on like they are supposed to. The tactics of the Border Patrol where in some places they have turned America into a police state where you have to have "your papers" and where racial profiling is rampant in selecting people that have to essentially show their papers. Federal laws says that racial profiling cannot be used for the basis for a stop and frisk so it seems that it would be implicit in that that law enforcement would not be permitted to stop a person based on racial profiling. President Trump if he was a principled President would shut this BP behavior in the strongest manner and we wouldn't have a situation like we recently saw in Charlotte, North Carolina! President Trump's 28 Point Peace Plan to end the Ukrainian war is shocking in how it betrays the American people's interest one America shouldn't be promoting sanctioning or making legal stolen land where one Country has taken another countries land by force especially in Europe where last century we fought two World Wars over the issue, America shouldn't be promoting a plan where our allies army is capped in size so it would not be able to repel a future invasion force and deny NATO Treaty Allies request to put a peace keeping force in our allied country to block an invading Army from reaching a NATO country and we shouldn't give an enemy country veto power over the expansion of our key alliance of allies that being the NATO alliance! Not only should these Democrats' tape be considered fine from a legal standpoint but it could also be applauded by the American people because America's armed forces are the most powerful armed forces in the world an unpredictable guy like President Trump if he starts misusing this power in violation of law a lot of great harm could result.
If the Trump Administration and Secretary Pete Hegseth begin legal action against any of these six responsible Democrats the Democrat Party should commence a big fight over this by doing the following. The Trump Administration's use of the U.S. military to destroy drug smuggling boats off the coast of Venezuela may not be illegal but it damn well should be because it is clearly immoral it is murder of the occupants of these cocaine smuggling boats morally these smugglers are not enemy combatants; in the eyes of God this is a violation of the commandment "Thou Shall Not Kill" these killings don't fall under any of the exceptions to this commandment! The Democrats should submit a bill in Congress saying the killing of these drug smugglers is against U.S. law and should stop immediately and use a discharge petition in the House to overcome a Republican leadership block. I suspect a lot of rank-and-file Republicans will support the bill good countries throughout the world are taken back at what the American government is doing here. Also, what if countries in significant numbers throughout the world start following this American precedent here where they execute/kill drug smugglers; America had, has and will have young people who think they are smarter than the system and think they can make some good money smuggling drugs from foreign countries and end up getting caught in these foreign countries responsible Americans don't want to see these Americans executed so prudent Congresspeople will pick-up on this concern and likely vote for passage of this bill!
