Adding to the already incredibly strange midterm elections, Republicans had an unexpectedly huge Election Day in Brooklyn, NY, of all places. Republicans won all three State Assembly seats in southern Brooklyn, including defeating a 36 year Democratic incumbent. These districts have a large Asian population and the Republican candidates piggybacked off of Lee Zeldin's anti-crime campaign which probably resonated well with this demographic since we've been the victims of increasing hate crimes the last couple of years.
