Poster Rightwing's post from earlier in this thread is worth repeating.
And repeating.
In my opinion, the 'border problems'.....are problems because of Republican inaction, Republican action, and Republican intransigence. They own it.
From RghtWingr:
- More Border Agents? Republicans blocked it
- Tougher rules on asylum? Republicans blocked it
- Limits on the number of migrants? Republicans blocked it
- Help for communities housing migrants? Republicans blocked it
- More Fentanyl detection units? Republicans blocked it
SOP, for the GOP.
A walk down memory lane:
Hillary Clinton had the audacity as First Lady to suggest that she would push for universal health insurance. Of course that earned her a bullseye. For about 15 years, they drilled her personally and insisted their own idea was far superior.
What was their great big idea they came up with? Obamacare.
The main thrust was the insurance mandate: Force the invincibles to buy in for life, and nobody gets ripped off. The invincibles get their needed health insurance later in life, and still get some benefit from it now, and those who need it now get it. And as long as people never stop being born, the system holds up. Like Social Security.
And, the best part? People had to buy insurance from private companies! A royal BJ to private insurance companies, and they loved the idea.
Then Obama ran on this to contrast himself to Hillary, and he won. Obama the corporate centrist rode a wave to the White House. And he ate the GOP's lunch on healthcare. So, naturally, they suddenly HATED the idea. So Obama whittled it down and whittled it down, until it was basically only the base GOP ideas left.
Then they spit in his face for the cameras anyway.
Then they tried and failed to repeal the act. Then they castrated it by eliminating the mandate. Their candidates STILL run on overturning it.
It was their idea in the first place. Then the smilin' brown guy ate their lunch. The rest is SOP, for the GOP.
