Republicans: It's not going to be enough

Did you libs forget that Trump won in 2016?
He wasn't running on the idea that free election don't matter and shouldn't count. That is what the trumpers are effectively running on now. Sorry. We got free elections in a representative republic, constitutional government and we're keeping it. What do you offer that is better than that? Nothing, as it is what we are founded on. You guys will just have to go back to being for the country as it was designed, rather than some strongman usurper of democracy. We reject it hands down.
The glue that holds the Trump base together is skepticism, distrust and hatred of government and MSM. This is a strong glue as the government and media have given plenty of reasons to foster those feelings over the years. I do agree with you that they need a solid message but that will come. Right now it’s opposition and focusing on how the Dems in power are screwing everything up. Once election season comes my guess is that they drill in on the border
Won't help if led by a trumpist. You just can't take the chance with any of them. What would you do? Trust them on a campaign promise that they support him for trying it, but they promise not to try it themself? I don't think so. Can't kick them out automatically for going back on a promise, and if the election is successfully overthrown, there goes the constitution and rule of law, leaving the country permanently screwed.
Unfortunately, I think power superseded promises a while back... nobody seem to care about promises anymore unless they are using them to attack the other side
The real power is at the voting booth. Both parties suck to and extent. Trumpists, just being the most immediate threat to the exercising of that power by the people and it counting for anything, but not the only threat, by any means. Independent is the way to go. Vote as if the country depends on it, instead of party, has always been my point of view.
The real power is with those who count the votes. The 2020 election proved that.
According to Trump's justice department, Trump's department of Homeland Defense, and the courts and legislatures, it was done correctly, possibly the most secure ever.
Deep State lies.

That was then.

This is now.

Shrillary was a train wreck of a candidate and deserved to lose - even if it was by Electoral College vote only.

Rump was indeed elected as the Un-Cola-Hillary candidate and by freak-chance actually got a shot at the title.

But he proved to be an existential threat to American representative democracy and the rule-of-law and simply HAD to go.

Sleepy Old Uncle Joe was the Un-Cola-Trump candidate which is why HE won, rather than any particular position or agenda element.

Republican retards need to grow some ball$ and stand up to your Orange Baboon-God and field better candidates and better ideas, and that damned soon.

The 2022 mid-terms aren't all that far away and unless the Idiot Dems screw-the-pooch and pi$$-off too many people (always a possibility) Pubs are gonna lose again.

A Chief Executive who incites crowds to turn into a riotous mob storming the Capital Building in open Insurrection does not deserve a second shot at the ring.

The sooner Republican a$$hole$ figure that out the sooner they can hope to return to power.

The country NEEDS a strong Second Party but it will not TOLERATE a treasonous one not committed to the rule of law.

Time to get your heads out of your a$$e$, Rumpian boot-lickers, before it's too late.
and jo biden is the aftermath of that hillary trainwreck

Easy for you to say... but when it’s not proven then all you’re doing is spewing hot air. Talk is cheap

Those department heads were appointed by republicans. The republican governors and republican led legislatures were elected by republicans. One third of the supreme court was appointed by trump. It is a conservative court. You just lost getting your way at the polls and everywhere else and need to get over it.

History says the GOP should win in 2022. The presidents party generally takes a beating in the midterms. If the Republicans lose, they have no one to blame but themselves...
It also says that incumbent Presidents almost always win.

THAT didn't happen...

Ronald Reagan once said: "Thou shall not speak ill of thy fellow Republicans" Today's Republicans would do well to heed this advise, and to find good, solid ideas that will address the needs of all Americans, while adhering to traditional Conservative principals. This will get you elected, because if all you can do is wail about the big government, socialist Liberals, it's not going to be enough-
Trumpers don't give a fuck about traditional Conservative principles.

The country NEEDS a strong Second Party but it will not TOLERATE a treasonous one not committed to the rule of law.

We work better as a two party nation. Even Biden says so

But Republicans need to EARN those votes by giving voters something they can support.
Wild conspiracy theories, lies and bullying does not get you votes.
The only way folks are going to believe your garbage, is if the Biden administration takes over the internet and requires folks to have an electronic ID to use the internet and restricts which sites users can access.

Otherwise, your opinion is pretty much useless and will only appeal to authoritarians, and no one sane really agrees with your slanderous accusations.

When you have no logical or reasonable arguments. . . the poor debater always sinks to AD Hom., libelous accusations, and defamation of those you disagree with. :113:
No, he has a point...

If the right, or the left, don't believe that elections are legit?

Then none of it matters.

. . . and he can lob derogative slander and names all he wishes at those who have lost faith in the system, those are still citizens, it does nothing to negate reality. It does not excuse the fact that we have a government in bed with corporate media, and a media environment that is highly concentrated and monopolized, and regulatory agencies that allowed it all to happen.

Calling folks names? That doesn't change any of these FACTS.

The whole forum knows this for a fact. . . either rightwinger is;

A) a paid shill with a rigid agenda that cares little for all Americans, or,

B) a certifiable idiot.

. . . who the hell knows which.

Libs are in charge so why are they behaving like losers? Why can't they tell us how great Biden's brave new world is without whining and bashing conservatives?

One reason why today's Republicans are not speaking up is because there is not much they can say in defense of their party. In addition to distortions of the truth, vain attempts to revise the events of Jan. 6, and the misadventures of Marjorie Taylor Green and Matt Gaetz, there is the vote on Liz Cheney's replacement whose only crime was telling the truth.

The Times reports, "House Republicans on Friday elected Representative Elise Stefanik of New York, a vocal defender of former President Donald J. Trump, as their No. 3 leader, moving swiftly to replace Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who was deposed this week for her refusal to stay silent about the former president’s election lies."

Once again, as was the case in Cheney's removal, the vote was in secret, and it took place in the basement of the Capitol.

While Trump was President, the Republican Party lost the House, Senate, and the Presidency. Angered by the loss and claiming to this day without basis that the election was stolen from him, President Trump led an insurrection on Jan. 6 and our capitol was ransacked by far right wing groups loyal to him. Five people were killed.

Following the vote, liberal leaning Stefanik said: “I believe that voters determine the leader of the Republican Party, and President Trump is the leader that they look to. I support President Trump, voters support President Trump; he is an important voice in our Republican Party.”

No one is surprised by the total lack of support from Republicans regarding their party. How does one defend this charade?

ABC News reports, "Former President Donald Trump will speak at North Carolina’s annual state Republican Party convention next month, party officials announced Monday.

"The former president will speak in person at the June 5 convention dinner in Greenville. Trump's speech will be closed to the media, and journalists won't be able to view it via livestream or alternate forms, said Livy Polen, a spokeswoman for the NC GOP."

That is extremely significant. Imagine that, a former Republican President is speaking to a state party convention, and Republicans do not want us to know what he is saying.

That is incredible. It is shocking even by Republican standards.

Yes, he is, and he is every bit as unimpressive and problematic as I knew he was going to be when I voted for him in November.

Why-the-hell would anybody vote for such a mess, knowing full-well in advance that it was coming?

Because the Orange Baboon-God was an existential threat to American representative democracy, which another four years of Rump would have destroyed.

Far easier to recover from four years of money printing-presses going full-steam 24x7 than to recover from the advent of a dictatorship or dynastic autocracy.

Sleepy Old Uncle Joe was by far-and-away the lesser of two evils.

Dear Republicans - I know it's fun to bash the Liberals, but your fighting a political battle with one hand tied behind your back.

Any political strategist from Conservative Karl Rove to Liberal David Axelrod will tell you that in addition to portraying your competition negatively, you also need to give the voters a good reason to vote for you - and you don't have one. Like it or not, Joe Biden is more popular than Donald Trump with voters, and Democrats are more popular than Republicans. To make matters worse, infighting between traditional or moderate Republicans and Trump loyalists have left the GOP fractured, with defections reducing the size of the Conservative voter base.

Those are the facts Jack - just the facts! :bye1:
Lower taxes, fewer regulations, support for Israel, stronger border security was why I did. I am an Independent
