No, you really didn't. Are you trying to say that as POTUS, Bush chose the "the best defense is a good offense" approach to "defending" us? If so, how did this offensive approach (.i.e, Iraq invasion and occupation) defend us?
Taking the fight to the enemy is not a Bush strategy. It is a strategy that has been proven throughout history.
If your enemies are too busy ducking, hiding and running from your overwhelming force, they have little time to attack us here at home. Pretty straight forward logic.
There are those in this country who believe that we should have only gone after those who attacked us. If that were the case, there would have been no war because those who attacked us died on 9/11.
We also have responsibilities to our allies as well.
This is all pretty basic. But it is also off topic.
