If at all true, I’m curious if this is related to the reported U.S. military buildup (huge transport and refueling air tankers heading to the MIddle East).

Probably anticipatory positioning for an attack on Iran, since Trump is leaning towards doing that. The Generals have already laid out plans for it.

Yep. It could be bogus. In fact, I’d feel a bit more secure if I could confirm that it’s just speculation and bullshit. But there have to be better ways to sus it all out.

I don't see it happening because Iran needs it's military to control it's people and even that might not be enough. Also if the American forces stationed in Diego Garcia were to leave port their most likely target would be Iran.
