Repealing the second amendment...

It seems the drumbeat is on again... well good luck. Lol

STEP 1: PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT

Either Congress or the states can propose an amendment to the Constitution.

  • Both houses of Congress must propose the amendment with a two-thirds vote. This is how all current amendments have been offered.
  • Two-thirds of the state legislatures must call on Congress to hold a constitutional convention.
STEP 2. RATIFYING AN AMENDMENT
Regardless of how the amendment is proposed, it must be ratified by the States.

  • Three-fourths of the state legislatures must approve of the amendment proposed by Congress, or

  • Three-fourths of the states must approve the amendment via ratifying conventions. This method has only been used once, to repeal Prohibition with the 21st Amendment.

Our Founding Fathers got it right, this time. The only thing we are repealing is right wing sense of Entitlement to general warfare spending instead of general welfare spending.
Classic! Regressives always want more welfare.
Classic! NeoAllegedConservatives always want more warfare.

Universal background checks/firearm registration is dog Whistle for firearm confiscation

Why do you people have this delusion that the left wants to repeal the 2nd amendment?
Every time They bring up universal background checks that’s what that means…
No it does not.

Yes, it does.
It’s all about controlling those they disagree with...

But the question still needs to be asked: Why does the left detest other people's Second Amendment rights, while at the same time holding their own First Amendment rights in such high regard?

Has any despotic regime in history ever been deposed by a bunch of unwashed people blowing plastic horns, waving signs, and wearing pink pussy hats on their heads?

What about the background checks already in place?

I don't think the OP realizes that his thread is an excellent argument as to why the people who fearmonger about the 2nd Amendment being repealed do not have a leg to stand on.

Leave things as they are, no new frivolous laws needed. Progressives are bat shit crazy stupid on the subject.

Can you post a link to someone calling for the repeal of the 2nd amendment?
Every time anyone calls for so called “universal background checks”... its a dog whistle.
Yeah right. what you just said is the real dog whistle. Don't listen to anything that has to do with reform because it secretly means repeal. What a joke.
Progressives can not be trusted, They have no tolerance of those they disagree with. Fact

Uh some do, sure, they are called wingnuts, they think just like you but on the opposite side... See, you are trying to generalize and put everybody who supports gun reform in that basket and that just isn't reality... nice try though.

That is what zealots do, lump everyone that does not think just like them into a big old pile. We have way too many partisan zealots in this country, they will be the end of it.
