Which means he did not quit his Washington job until he was about 86, about 20 years past the age most people retire.

Goes to show how hard a job Washington DC is.

In an odd way I'll miss him. Yes he was too often a race baiter, dishonest propaganda spreading politician and such. But he did have his lovable side along with a quick wit and a smile that could light up a room.

I recall one favorite moment when he was having an amicable interview with Sean Hannity and the subject of age came up. Can't remember Sean's exact question but it was something to the effect of "Do you think you're getting old?" Rangel immediately quipped back: "At my age I don't buy green bananas." Sean cracked up.

There was a time that he and citizen Donald Trump were good friends and that carried into the White House at least for awhile.

But in recent years Rangel's health was obviously deteriorating until he became almost an unrecognizable ghost of himself.

RIP Mr. Rangel. I'll miss you.

In an odd way I'll miss him. Yes he was too often a race baiter, dishonest propaganda spreading politician and such. But he did have his lovable side along with a quick wit and a smile that could light up a room.
