Do I have to sacrifice one for the other?

I find I laugh less and I am a bit more touchy about crude humour. I still enjoy wit, but crude humour just reflects an unG-dly form of communication. I might have laughed years ago, not so much today.

Am I right or wrong? How does one balance ones beliefs and a sense of comedy?

No need to sacrifice your faith for comedy or vice versa. That said, there's a time and place for most things so use your best judgement.

As far as "crude" humor goes - if it gets a chuckle or a decent, honest laugh out of you without you blushing, shaking your head or getting anxious about it - it's likely "ok" - if you do get anxious, blush, etc - likely not good comedy for you.

That said, take jokes and comedy in moderation and certainly do not let them affect your faith or works.

No, you really don't. I am /very/ religious, yet can crack a joke with the best of them because I understand that faith and inner conviction stand alone from mere words and getting along with and fitting in with other people.

Well, there is also the issue of me.laughing at a crude joke. I'm not a crude person but it might be a roast clip or something I click on or hear. Really the jokes are juvenile but they catch me off guard and I laugh. A moment later I say "thats a silly joke" but in the moment I laugh. I dont tell crude jokes but I am witty at times I suppose. I have to temper this or I might.say something that is undiplomatic.

God created humor. If He didn't, it wouldn't exist.

The proof was when the legalized pot and hostess filed for bankruptcy :laughing0301:

There's a time and place for everything. Socially, do things in moderation; when you can. If you follow those two principles - things will usually work out for the better.

Too bad as I haven't tasted a Twinkie since I was a kid and could go for one right now.

They didn't go out of business...but yup...they filed for bankruptcy about 1 day after weed was legalized.

You would think legal pot would greatly INCREASE the demand for Twinkies and Devil Dogs! :71:

It wasn't outmoded products because little debbie snack cakes still exist.

It was there union who demanded 2 workers to a truck...one to drive & another to haul the product into the stores. Ridiculous crap like that was the downfall of hostess.
