I was taught that FDR was "the greatest US President" and once you do any independent research you have to wonder what greatness standard scale is used to come to that conclusion.
In November 1940, after 2 whole FDR terms this is what the world and nation looked like.
At home. unemployment was 14.6%. That's right, after 2 whole terms of "New Deal" unemployment was still at a disastrous Socialist Fail levels. Not only didn't the New Deal help the economy, the New Deal prolonged and worsen the Depression. The FDR Depression a direct result of Roosevelt bringing Soviet style Central Planning to the USA with the same results. The reason for the economic failure is obvious once you realize that more people on FDR's staff reported to Stalin than to FDR. The same ideology failing in the USSR was tried and failed in the USA
Abroad. Hitler and the Nazi just occupied France and swept up Holland and controlled most of Europe; London subject to Nazi bombing raid. FDR's Russian allies just got their asses kicked by the Finns.
That's how FDR's second term would have ended.
The economy in tatters, the world awash in blood and all the spies in the White House and State would have had to put out their resumes had FDR done what every other popular President had done before him and only served two terms
