A four-minute video has appeared on the Telegram channel of the head of the Chechen Republic that draws particular attention. The video shows a ceremonial review of the troops of the power units stationed in Chechnya.
In front of tens of thousands of well-equipped and armed soldiers Ramzan Kadyrov delivered a speech noting that they were now defending the traditional values - values which are equally understood and shared by Chechens, Russians, Muslims and Christians.
The head of Chechnya, addressing the assembled troops, pointed out that today's battle must be fought so that the war does not come home to us - to each and every one of our homes. And to do this it is necessary to stand and win.
Ramzan Kadyrov gave his speech in uniform with the new shoulder straps of Colonel-General. We should remind that the head of the Chechen Republic was recently awarded this rank by the Commander-in-Chief, President Vladimir Putin.
