1. The True Believers: a small group of who truly believe in the cause and are the spokesmodels when a credible face is needed.

2. The Power Players: the small group who actually run the show and are promoting a far different agenda than the one represented by the True Believers. This group is usually socialist/anarchist in nature - and use the issue of the day to attack Western Civilization.

3. The Fashionistas: the bulk of the protestors get involved because they think it is fun-cool-a great way to meet chicks and get laid.

4. The Token Celebrities: this last group is optional - not all protests garner the participation of a Token Celeb. But they are great for getting additional press coverage. It is a career boost/photo-op for the celeb (as they say, there is no such thing as Bad Publicity).

A PUBLIC right of way belongs to everyone. By blockading it, they are inducing violence. If somebody stands in front of my car door and refuses to let me in it, then they are inciting violence. People who use speech are often convicted of INCITING violence.
