Quote from Mamdani's victory speech

Wait a minute…You work there, but live in the South….why?
We have an office up there. We deal with NYC based institutions everyday. Our board meetings are up there. Lots of reasons. I am based in the south.

I was there a few years ago staying with a relative who lived on 5th Avenue overlooking Central Park. Sucked then and still sucks. Neat to visit, but even living in luxury compared to most other people, it was a dive in comparison.
Its the most densely populated place in America. If people didnt love it, they wouldnt live there. I'd gouge my eyes out before living in Kansas, but people love Kansas too.

Sure. Nothing worse than a world class city with thousands of amazing restaurants, iconic structures, world class shopping, the most amazing city park on earth and real movie scenes on every corner. Its a great place if you have money.

They don’t you live there then? You are rich according to everything you say here. I’ll help you out. You aren’t rich enough to live a life of luxury in NYC. My relative’s apartment was around 4-5 million and you don’t want to know the monthly HOA. Even still, he still had to deal with major congestion, loud streets, smells from everywhere, crime, etc. The restaurant, Broadway and museum scene becomes old hat very quickly and there is little left. The park is neat, but only in comparison to other city parks. There are many parks in the country in just about every state that are far better than Central Park. It is just an oasis in a desert basically.

I am telling you, NYC is on the brink of being a literal paradise.

All lefties should move there immediately.

Sure, with scammers, and thieves everywhere you go…So again, you love NYC, but choose the live in NC…Why?

If NYC is soooooo great, why not base your business there?

I love San Francisco, dont live there. I love Yosemite, dont live there. I love the Smokey Mountains, dont live there. I love Hong Kong, dont live there. I love London, dont live there. What was the question again?

Yes, I figured you would be a city person. Most Democrats are. Safety in numbers I guess.

I am very glad that so many like it. I don’t live in the boonies, but I can easily get to a place and have some peace and serenity anytime I would like and quickly. I still have access to venues that host Broadway shows, access to very nice restaurants(we have several culinary schools in our state) and there is a Starbucks, if you like that sort of thing, 1 mile from my house. We also have beautiful lakes and parks. All of this plus lower taxes, much nicer homes for the money and nicer people. But hey, to each his own.

Sure dummy, you yourself said NYC is a wonderful place, you do business there, maintain an office there. But live in Charlotte NC. why?

First reasonable response Ive seen from you recognizing that people have their own preferences for what they like and that is ok with you. Kudos.

Neither does Cheeto Hitler, since he's rounding up legal immigrants as well as illegal ones.

Yeah, by the 10s. I repeat, mistakes happen, but the process is for the common good.

Wealth redistribution is not a foundational principle of the US.

Government’s role should be to protect property, not redistribute it.

But for the last 40 years, we've seen wealth redistribution, away from the working class and to the investor class.

Maybe we need to reverse that trend.

By taking money from people that earned it and giving it to those that didn’t? How exactly will that fix anything?
