I wrote a thread and placed it in the Law forum about the Zeta killers and it seems that Lil O Lady decided to steal my OP and open it in immigration. The issue has nothing to do with immigration and she opened her thread over four hours after I opened mine. Is this type of activity permitted at US Message Boards? The below is my thread.

and this is hers

the threads have been merged. people often start threads after someone else has started a thread on the same subject. i don't think it's snatching so much as a difference in when someone sees something on a news site or wherever, and, of course, lots of people don't bother to search to see if there's already a thread on a subject.
You know, Xchel is right, and so is Del. We have too many threads, and it must be awful to manage. In US Discussion alone, I just did the math. Not only does the Politics Board have 30,515 threads, if you add Politics to the rest under "US Discussion" Boards, there are
82,718 threads total in U.S. Discussions!
We owe a debt of gratitude to Del, Elvis, LKEder, Meister, PIxieStix, Annie, EchoZulu, Intense, DanK, and of course, Gunny and the rest of the moderators here who do all these things to keep things going, but I may not know are mods.
We could help them by looking out to see if there are other threads on the same subject. If your story is 4 hours or less old, look for topics that likely are similar to yours, and check the opening thread parent's post on that thread to see if the link used is the same as yours. I try to do this. Sometime's I'm first, sometimes I miss something that was posted in another area. Just sayin'.
