This saga is ridiculous. I think this it the third time when people have gone "Ah, Trump now realizes that Putin's playing him" and then he goes back to be being played.

Has he got it this time, or is this just another strop?

I hope Trump shows the balls to stand up to Putin. Unfortunately,Trump prefers to pick on weaker countries and leaders not those as powerful as Putin and Russia. Putin is humiliating Trump on the world stage. Maybe that will be enough for Trump to grow a couple.

Trump is doing what he does best, being a hypocrite and hoping nobody calls him out.

If he really wants the war in Ukraine to end all he has to do is stop perpetuating it by supplying weapons to Ukraine.

Russia has stated time and again what it seeks, so it's simple to end the war, stop supplying Ukraine, work on the EU to reverse the decades old NATO expansion policy, announce Ukraine will never join NATO and it's all over.

Russia simply will not allow any more NATO bases on its border, it said that when the Berlin wall came down and it has said it ever since, they meant it.

He has a lot of leverage but he's a fool, he has no idea what he's doing and frankly neither do the Europeans, sooner or later Russia will attack some place in Europe because it is being collectively attacked by Europe and by the United States.

Ukraine and it's illegitimate government (installed by the US) are not worth risking a nuclear war over, screw Ukraine, let them fight their own battles, they could have avoided the war altogether if Zelensky had agreed to not seek NATO membership.

Imagine how the US would react if Mexico openly and eagerly sought membership of a Chinese led military alliance with the promise of Chinese bases and weapons (potentially nuclear) in Mexico, you think the US would not resist?

Why do people automatically create a dichotomy on every issue? Are you for the Bloods OR are you for the Cripps? You must choose a side and die for it. Likewise, you're either for Russia OR you're for Ukraine. But intelligent people realize that not everything is a good vs. evil fight and when it comes to fights everything is usually two evils fighting it out. Ukraine does not impact the US one bit, let someone else fall into that money pit. Does anyone ever wonder what would happen if countries would just stop constantly meddling in each other's affairs and actually started caring about their own citizens for a change? Probably not. But this war would have never started if governments were more focused on their own citizens.

Russia has worked directly with seperatist groups in Georgia and Moldova. They annexed Crimea. They invaded Ukraine.

If the US keeps treating Mexico, like they are under Trump, they may align with China. The same for Canada. If a country threatens to take you over, you look for help to prevent it.
The world is looking beyond the USA, in economic terms, because the USA is proving to be an unreliable trading partner. EVERY country in the world can help fill the gap the US leaves as it turns inward. That will result in closer relations with China for many countries.

Trump looks stupid. He has said the Ukraine started the war. He blasted Zelinsky before the world saying he does not hold the cards in this conflict. He praised Putin and scolded Zelinsky.

We'll see what Trump does if Russia decides to invade Azerbaijan. I can't see Russia doing it, they must know they'd lose. Azerbaijan has money and an army that has been used recently. Also, Russia is struggling to keep it going in the Ukraine, another front would kill them. But there are rumors out there.
