I am no longer a Christian, but I am always intrigued by this comparison, which is always made by Communists to justify and bolster the merits of their ideology as being benevolent and charitable.

Did Puntin note the distinct difference between the two, in that the one element lacking in Communism but indispensible in Christianity is individual free will? Charity without free will is theft and bestows no lasting internal benefit to either the donor or the recipient.
