The Russian MoD put out an interesting announcement today.
Over 100,000 new contract soldiers have signed up with the Russian military since the start of the year. Of those, more than 16,000 signed up since the terror attack in Moscow ten days ago. Two divisions.

It's astonishing to me that serious people still think there's going to be some kind of rump Ukraine left under Zelensky's regime when this war is over. The Russians cannot tolerate, as a matter of national security, a heavily-armed and fanatically revanchist rump Ukraine on their border to serve as a terrorism hub for the indefinite future - which any such postwar "frozen conflict" state would.

This war will end - at this point, can end - only with the unconditional surrender of Ukraine. Whether that capitulation leads to the outright dissolution of the Ukrainian state or merely comprehensive regime change in Kiev remains to be seen.
