Put manufacturing, tech companies, energy and fuel, and military in charge of science and eductaion.

The manufacturing sectors, the tech sectors, and the energy sectors, as well as the military should be able to determine where the Nation's Science budget is allocated as well as where Education dollars are spent. If they have no purpose for it, the taxpayers do not pay for it.

They could even help save us money by telling us what we can eliminate.

Not in-charge of education/training, but it makes sense for them to project what type of work skills they will need to be competitive so we have gainfully employed workers earning good wages, and fewer art-history majors living in their parents' basements defaulting on their student loans.
