Colson Whitehead follows in the tracks of Faulkner and Updike with a novel, The Nickel Boys , about the abuse of children in a Florida childrens home.
I always found Faulkner and Updike hard work so I am not encouraged to pick up Mr Whiteheads book. Elmore Leonard will be remembered as the great American novelist of the last century.
