I do agree with op on this. It is analogous to boys and girls back in my day. You, a boy, would not go up to another boy in school and call his momma a whore WITHOUT being ready to fight. As a result of conditioning, us boys were usually nicer to each other (until we were ready to pick a fight). But girls were different. They never had someone walk up to them and punch them square in the face for something they said. Therefore, they let the shit-talking fly. Sure, there were some girl fights back in school, but not many. They were usually minorities and they fought like, well, girls.
Social media has destroyed out culture. Just consider the following:
1. People act rudely online because you cannot punch them in the face;
2. Violence is more likely because gamers become number to death and violence when the scenario is repeated over and over and over and over in video games day after day.
3. Dangerous stuff is easier to obtain online.
4. Pedos and predators can now stalk from the comfort of their home.
5. Lots of opinions and views that do not really need to be heard now have a platform that sounds it out to the world and on some level legitimizes it.
6. It creates new avenues for fraud and criminal activity.
7. Kids can easily get exposed to things that are not age appropriate.
8. Drunk shopping/buying.
9. Losing your privacy by being plugged into the matrix.
10. HUGE levels of lost productivity due to people dicking around online at work.
People need to put this shit down and go outside. Go to the woods and kill something. Go bang bar sloots. Learn to play a musical instrument. Go to a ballgame. Whatever. Just unplug.
