This is a.huge.step. There is a real fear by some that the unaccountable creepy police state is leading Canandians to want out. Record homeless populations, covert cops in Ontario schools and workplaces, the Charter disregarded as so many blame America for our corrupt system. I higly doubt they separate but there is an opening now and real disagreement among citizens about our future, especially out West. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/alberta-referendum-question-approved-9.7025892.
Alberta's election agency announced Monday it has approved a proposed referendum question on the province separating from Canada.

The question seeks a yes or no answer to: "Do you agree that the province of Alberta should cease to be a part of Canada to become an independent state?"

Elections Alberta said the proponents — the Alberta Prosperity Project and its chief executive officer, Mitch Sylvestre — have until early January to appoint a financial officer for its petition campaign, after which signature collection can begin.

The problem is that if Alberta and other Conservative provinces leave, the rest of Canada becomes a one-party state with no hope in ever having anything else other than the liberals governing.

It's not that simple an equation. It is just really depressing that this question is so profoundly popular in Alberta that the question was approved at all, it is evidence.of how much citizens are demanding this. We almost lost such a vote in Quebec in the early 90s, this question resonates more with me as I am much older and tne world is far smaller.

I would have wanted to see the breakup of Canada.

What the hell did we do to you?!
Trudeu and what happened to truckers Covid pissed me off.

Not the truckers or those who protested but a Fascist govt who seized assets for protesting the jab.

Alberta is basically a RED STATE. Ontario a China wanna be.

You have trashed Canada for years, now are you upset that many agree with that?

I dont trash Canada, I trash the abusers of our rights within Canada. I am pissed that they get away with so much and destroy our nation in the process.

As far as I am concerned, America should call out those who violate our Charter. I was not a fan of the response to the truckers but I didnt like the blocking of the border.

Focus on exposing the abusers of human rights and their creepy apparatuses, but the average folks. The government we have now just took over a few months ago so...

And it is leftist. And yes over the years you trashed Canada.

To me. Ontario is another shithole like New York.

Covid. They seized bank accounts in the middle of winter. No money for rent, food.

**** THAT

I heard the original question the group wanted was ruled unconstitutional, and I wasn't sure why that was so?

We have a 51st star waiting for Alberta.

Alberta cannot leave Confederation because virtually the entire province is subject to the rights and claims of the indigenous people living there. Not to mention that Albertans don't want to leave Confederation. They want Danielle Smith gone.

The recall petition for Smith has more signatories than the petition for a referendum.

And as soon as you became a part of the US, you'd hate the US and blame them for all your problems. Grass greener
