So, not everyone is nuts in California. Some sanity comes through.
In deep blue California, Prop 36 which increases penalty for petty theft passed by 70% of the vote. In deep blue Oakland, both the mayor and county public prosecutor were recalled for being soft on crime with more than 65% of the vote. Maybe in the echo chambers of the newsrooms, being tough on crime is a liability but even deep blue areas want order back. They want petty crime prosecuted, they want stores to be normal without lock and key and most importantly they want an end to uncontrolled southern border. Suck on it Soros!

A ballot measure that will roll back some of California's most controversial soft-on-crime policies has overwhelmingly passed in the deep blue state.
Proposition 36, the Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act, sought to undo portions of Proposition 47 by increasing penalties for some crimes. When Proposition 47 passed in 2014, it downgraded most thefts from felonies to misdemeanors if the amount stolen was under $950, "unless the defendant had prior convictions of murder, rape, certain sex offenses, or certain gun crimes."
