If the Democrats are so intent on refusing to sign a bill that requires citizenship to vote, and thus the government shuts down, it is the Dems’ fault. For what possible reason would the Dems refuse to sign such a bill?

Because it halters the way we have done voter registration drives....

The vetting should be done by the election clerk vetting the registration applications for minimum age, and address, or being a felon....the clerk should vet applications for citizenship and it should be breaking the law, if the state vetting clerks, dont do that....

The volunteers at registration drives should not have this task...

States vetting voter rolls can actually happen...your state and all states are required to do this periodically, as required by federal law already.

Positions in the state government of clerks vetting, are NOT political positions, but civil servants, both repubs and dems are hired...each voting district is responsible for their own vetting, where the applications are sent to the voting district the applicants live in to do so.

Your false accusations that the democratic clerks if they exist, in all these districts will cheat, is a lie.

And you actually think it would be safer for volunteers at voting drives to check for ID and give the okay? Like they couldn't illegally push through a bunch of applicants not eligible with fake ids? The clerk being paid to do the job, and legal consequences if they cheat somehow with felonies, is safer and better than the volunteers at voter drives.
