Could be a number of reasons… in the ancient times warfare could be quite violent. And both sides could have been attempting to impose their will onto others and the consequences were the consequences. Thats only one example.Sure. What makes religions "not exist anymore"? Could conquest, proselytizing, and conversation have anything to do with it?
It is certainly also the case that through history religions have appealed to people who saw them as loving, enticing, having so much to offer that they left their former religion and joined a new one.
