Pro Bowl On The Way To Suck Again

Why does the Pro Bowl suck so much? It gets worse by the year.

Used to be that we had:

PLAYOFFS ---- ---- SUPER BOWL ---- PRO BOWL

The Pro Bowl was a capper the week after the SB and was held in some nice place like Hawaii. They actually played a game of football, just maybe held back a little on killing each other.

Then they moved it as a fill-in for the empty weekend between the Playoffs and the Super Bowl and dumbed it down to fake contests and moved it to some hokey location down south.

NOW they are having it on a TUESDAY, tomorrow night of ABC/ESPN at 8PM as a preamble/lead-in for the players to the Super Bowl with no actual competition, nothing to risk, nothing to lose, and everyone is a winner.

The Pro Bowl is so pathetic that 2 Browns QB's are playing in it because so many actually good QB's either don't care or are "injured".

Sheduer Sanders and Joe Flacco are Pro Bowlers, I kid you not. Sanders threw for like 1400 yards, 7 TD's, and 10 INT's. Pro bowler! LOL

Without consequence to the outcome, why should there be any interest by players or fans?

Otherwise, just line the Pro bowlers up, shake their hands, give them some little trophy, and let them go home.

It is the same for the all star game in baseball. It is what it is. The owners are competing for a Superbowl. They don't want their stars getting injured in a meaningless game. It ain't changing.

Some sports can have an All-Star Game. Baseball's is by far the best.

It is the same for the all star game in baseball. It is what it is. The owners are competing for a Superbowl. They don't want their stars getting injured in a meaningless game. It ain't changing.

That's the point, make the game meaningful. You don't mind getting beat up a little if the game still stands for something.

The NFL pro bowl and NBA all-star game are unwatchable in my opinion.

I think it's time to just give up on them.

Well easier said than done. MLB I think tried that by giving all star game winner home field advantage in the series. Not sure how that turned out. I basically disappear onto the water during baseball season. The Superbowl is played where the Superbowl is played. I suppose you could kill that and make them play at the winner of pro bowl side get a home game for super bowl. Not sure how that would go over.

I guess ABC wimped out of the lousy Pro Bowl. I turned on the TV at 8PM to see what was up with the Pro Bowl and ABC had on a soap opera or something. Going back, ESPN had dropped the ABC logo so something happened that either ESPN didn't want ABC drawing viewers away or ABC simply lost interest, didn't want to pay or something. Maybe the early ratings on projected interest were low.

got news for you the pro bowl has sucked ever sense the stupid ***** decided to play it one week before the superbowl depriving fans of seeing the players that put on the best performances that year. the QB of the eagles went out and played the greatest of all qbs in the league last year and you get deprived of seeing him play in the pro bowl,

pretty stupid to have the pro bowl in the first place when the players that were major difference makers in getting their team to the superbowl arent even allowed to be int he pro bowlthat year.

ANOTHER reason WHY pro bowl sucks.That was the perfect place to have it in Hawaii every year,for the people that were sitting at home in the cold,they could enjoy seeing the warm sites of the island of hawaii and its oceans.man those were the days.

if the NFL was always as fucked up as it is now with the pro bowl we would NEVER have had the chance or the pleasure to watch the likes of john elway and terrel davis of the broncos play in the pro bowl back in the 90's when they won a couple of superbowls nor would we have ever had the chance to watch peyton manning play in the pro bowl those years he was in the superbowl and here is how it is really fucked not playing one week later AFTER the superbowl like they used to,rich gannon would never have won the mvp award for the pro bowl that year he did when he was with the raiders because he would have been deprived of playing in the pro bowl being in the superbowl.

Man i thought MLB baseball was fucked up but as fucked up as MLB baseball IS,,the NFL takes the cake head and shoulders above ALL professional sports as the MOST fucked up one of them all.
