Princess Jasmine Is Officially Gone

The Supreme Court has decided that the redistricting in Texas is legal and now Jasmine Crockett is officially gone from congress.

She is legally entitled to continue until jan 2027. Why do you post such stupid bullshit all the time? Do you have any shame at all?
Article 1 section 2 of the COTUS states
  • Clause 2 Qualifications
  • No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen.

All gerrymandering in both Democratic and Republican states seems to fly in the face of, the citizens picking their leaders that govern through a free and fair election, vs the govt leaders in power carving out convoluted districts made up of the citizens they chose... who they know, will vote for them.

She wants to run for the senate

And I’m sure she will run her mouth constantly till then

The citizens pick the State leaders that do the gerrymandering.

The only real solution would be to increase the size of the House to 2k or 3k reps making it that much harder to gerrymander simply due to the time and thinking that would be involved.

We could use the census and AI to draw districts simply on the basis of population density

And repubs would be the big winners

Someone would find a way to skew it.

If there is to be gerrymandering, better it to be out in the open where all can see, AND better for it to be equally done by both sides.

Sure, "legally" she is allowed to hang out at Congress. Nobody there will be mean to her, just because she is the lamest of lame ducks. They will listen politely to her rantings and phony ghetto patois, just as they have for the last three years.

But the truth is that the Great State of Texas has rejected her and DEI cannot save her.

Too bad she didn't spend her time in congress working for her constituents and reaching across party lines in the spirit of cooperation that allowed her geographical ancestors to make Texas a paradise on Earth. She might have been a viable candidate even without having a special district gerrymandered for her.

Less time at the nail salon and taking refresher courses in ebonics and more time meeting with community leaders to hear their concerns and act on them.

Yes, good point. I was just about to suggest some AI type solution, or some algorythm to take human bias out of it. But you are right, human bias is baked in the cake of everything humans do, so let's fight it out publicly, not be handed a spreadsheet created by HAL.

If her district doesn't exist anymore.....she's gone. The legislature voted for this. FYI, this is how Democracy works.
It's just a matter of her cleaning out her office.

But you're saying that once voters in one single election vote in a representative or legislator, then that representative or his Party, gets to gerrymander their own seat where they safely win each year after, where it is no longer the voter picking our representative every 2 years? That certainly could not have been our Founder's intention....???

it's how the Constitution was written. you HAVE to review and adjust the districts every 10 years based on the Census. You aren't prohibited from doing it more often. Also, the method is left to the State legislatures.
