President Trump is using tariffs as a tool for change NOT to institutionalize a tariff regime.. Easy peasy.

The tariff controversy is being colored in the most scary ways possible, because the Democrats, media, and ruling establishment want rid of Trump. It is also important to understand that tariffs are not the only way to limit imports. There are other means, such as quotas. Quotas on imports into the US of Japanese cars were part of the US auto producers bailout negotiated in the final year of the Carter administration.

I will attempt to put the issue in a correct perspective. It is not Trump’s intention, at least at the present time, to institutionalize a tariff regime. Trump is using tariffs as a threat to secure agreements that he thinks are in America’s interests. So far 50 countries have, according to reports, agreed to remove their tariffs on US goods. The countries responding aggressively seem to be China and our European allies. I explained yesterday how Trump could better have gone about his task. Nevertheless, as the Commerce Secretary said, Trump’s tariffs are not expected to extend beyond a few weeks or a few months of negotiation.

Some, if not all, Democrats really don't care if the U.S. succeeds. They hate Trump because he caused them to lose their power and their plans to destroy the Constitution and the country. Turn it into a the New World Marxist Global Order.

From my understanding the pause is basically to create a template for a deal that can easily be tweaked to suit the country coming to the table.....It's up to 75 countries at last count.

They think they will use Japan as the template to work off of.

Canada, the EU, and China best get their foot off their dicks or they are going to be left out in the cold.

There is literally NO OTHER WAY to bring foreign countries to the table outside of attacking them militarily or blockading their ports. That is obviously not viable so Trump is taking THE ONLY ACTION he can to reverse the half century of fuckery foreign countries have engaged in. Every other President has kicked the can down the road because it is disruptive, it has to be.

Oh look....another MAGA imbecile trying to pretend that Trump is a sane, rational person.

Even Elon Musk is calling these tariffs a horrible idea, you idiot.

There is no happy ending to this nightmare.....Trump's idiotic plan to turn back the clock to fucking 1973 is going to blow up in his face and ruin the lives of millions of Americans.

It's already a huge success

Such weak ass bullshit. Tons of Republicans also hate these tariffs...including billionaires who donated to Trump's campaign like Elon Musk and Bill Ackman. --

Poor MAGA gomer.....you believe the mentally ill Trump who plays with his feces all day long actually has a "plan".

Not even insane Trump knows what his tariff "plan" is.

The sooner you understand that, the sooner you can escape your deranged, radicalized MAGA cult.

Jamie Dimond :laughing0301: He's a liberal jack ass. The fact is, the tariffs are working plenty well. All Trump has to do is stay alive because the Democrats and global financial jerks are probably behind the attempted assassination attempts on Trump. Just like they were with JFK. When are you jack asses going to realize that he's doing the tariffs to negotiate to put the U.S. in a much better financial and economic situation. Businesses are already lining up to come back to the U.S. Good grief.

You think that up yourself or is that your wish.

It is interesting to see democrats express their wish for war. All things democrat always boils down to violence, anarchy

Since 2005 Chuck Schumer has been whining about China and how unfairly their trade policies are, including intellectual property theft, subsidies, dumping, and very high tariffs on US goods.

Democrats are HYPOCRITES. Trump is doing what they were afraid to do, since 2005.

Stop with the vulgar "feces" nonsense it makes you look like a shit eater. Clean up your act or get ignored.

Yet Schumer never advocated a fucking 145% tariff on China, Kleetus.....because he knows that is fucking insane.

Please ignore me....comparing Schumer's criticism of China to what Trump is doing right now with these tariffs is as dishonest as it gets.

Schumer never talked about purposely starting a recession....like Trump is now doing. So why the fuck would I want to talk to you when you make these idiotic comparisons???

Fucking idiot.

Trump only put the 145% tariff on China because they upped the tariff on US goods. That's what you do in a trade war.

Point being that Schumer advocated for tariffs against China since 2005, Trump is actually doing it. If you were non-partisan you would be supportive.

Trump is not purposely starting a recession, that is a dishonest statement, Trump wants prosperity. If the Fed lowers interest rates and Trump re-negotiates fair trade agreements with everyone, that has to be a positive for the US economy in the long run.

Not if Trump didn't start the trade war first, you hopeless imbecile. Hence, an irrelevant, meaningless point.

No smart businessman is going to invest in this country while Trump is President, unless he ends all of these tariffs. We are totally fucked and you are a total imbecile for voting for this mentally ill dumb fuck.

Trump has admitted his policies might cause a recession. That is his choice, which makes it intentional. --

Trump privately said he was aware that his broad and steep plan for levies unveiled last week could tip the economy into a recession, but he didn’t want a depression, according to a Wednesday night report from the paper, citing people familiar with the conversations.

You are not looking at the trade war objectively. Countries, including China, have had unfair trading practices with the US since at least 2005, as confirmed by the Schumer video. The FACT that Trump is getting $trillions of new investment in the US disproves your assertion about investment in the US.

He said that there would be an adjustment period while supply chains adjusted to the new tariffs. Then he said that the new tariffs would level the trade system benefiting US manufacturing. My proof is the endorsement by the UAW and other unions. Maybe you missed it but the new polls show that the GOP is now the party that supports workers.
