"President Trump Announces Successful U.S-China Trade Proposal, 55% Tariffs on Chinese Imports – There Will Be No Inflation from This Agreement

June 11, 2025 | Sundance |
President Trump announces that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer have successfully concluded three-days of topline trade negotiations with their Chinese counterparts.

President Trump and Chairman Xi will now evaluate the successfully negotiated details and institute the topline strategy as part of the overall future trade agreement. According to the Truth Social post, there will be a 55% tariff on Chinese imports and a 10% tariff on U.S. goods to China."

Trump continues to do what he promised to do. Americans need to hold all elected officials to that standard.

Our beloved Pres.Trump scores another "Win" for the American people.
1. What about Nvidia chips and advanced chip design software?
2. What about fentanyl?
3. What about germ warfare on US crops?
4. what about the war in Ukraine?

Did Trump give away the store?

BS the deal was a win for China.

China goes back to selling us rare earth minerals that will result in US becoming complacent again.

The tariff increase isn't all that much from where it is now. The tariff level is already about 25% and will go up to 55%. An approximately 30% increase that the American consumers will pay for anyway and will do nothing to bring back manufacturing to the States.

And most of all, Chinese students will be allowed back into our universities and colleges to steal our technology...until those universities and colleges go into the crapper because of the Trump Administration's war on education.

I'm confident those 4 items were addressed in the trade negotiations.

Tell us how Guess allegedly eating the tariffs on jeans (which remains to be seen) creates those promised new jobs again? Your source seems to have avoided that.

How is a 50% tax on Chinese import tax a good deal for the American workers? Prices on goods that will never be made in the USA are already going up for people who already don't make enough money to live on.

The so-called "deal" leave a permanent 50% tariff on all Chinese imports that wasn't there when Trump was Inaugurated. And that's in addition to the loss of food stamps and MedicAid for low income workers.

And Trump is selling this as a good deal for working Americans that fixes your trade issues with China.

Make it in the USA and there's no tariffs, just American jobs.

So, no trade with China? Works for me.

And how long will it take to build the factories? When you are shutting down universities, where are you going to get the engineers to build those factories? When scientist are leaving for foreign nations, where are you going to get the people to do the research that gives a nation a head start on new technology? Trump is a disaster for manufacturing in the USA.

Ok, I dont get it....why are we keeping a 55% tariff on China? Trump's deal with this was to get to zero tariffs. If we want to have FREE trade between countries, we need to try and get as close to 0% as possible.

It's great we have a deal, but in the long term, this isnt going to set well with china, im sure. Im sure china feels like they are being raked over the coals and in the long term, this could sour relations.

Im fine with the tariffs as a bargaining chip to get other countries to stop screwing us over, but when they finally give in...we need to give in as well.
