President in North Carolina offering help and trashing FEMA

Trump said at a storm briefing in Fletcher that the Federal Emergency Management Agency needs an “overhaul” and to potentially be eliminated. Instead, Trump said he prefers emergency response delegated to states. “That’s what we have states for ... A governor can handle something very quickly,” he said. Trump didn’t directly address questions from reporters about the timeline for changes to FEMA.

What was left out of the comment reported here was that Trump said that in place of Fema, the Feds would pay a percentage of the cost of recovery.

It goes without saying that the States are better prepared to handle emergency and the only real resource they need is funding.

1. What percent? The previous admin was notorious for nonpayment.
2. Or if he doesn't like you or your state - like California.

Again, this is going to suck for Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.

Well, since it was a remark made at a news conference, he did not specify the percentage. Why would that even matter? It isn't official policy yet, and FEMA is still taking taxpayer money under false pretenses.

I was lucky enough to catch the live contiguous news feed on TV hours ago.
Back in 2021 after J6, much of the MSM including Fox cut Trump off from coverage for about a year and a half. One of the few that kept covering Trump was RAV News, so now, Trump remembered that and has made RAV News part of his personal press gaggle. So they were in one of the press vans with their own camera following Trump all morning, and Steve Bannon relayed it commercial free for hours.
  • When I came into it, Trump was in Asheville NC at a fire station talking to many dignitaries there about the problems going on. Melania was with him.
  • From there, we followed in the press van live continuous as they all drove out to Swananoa NC to an area of devastation. There, Trump and Melania met local folks near a wrecked house as locals relayed fighting for their lives, seeing buildings washed away, bodies everywhere trying to survive the water. Melania was hugging some of the people.
  • Trump went on with disgust about Biden, insinuating that Biden STOPPED aid to the area, disgust about FEMA and that at worst, he will be restricting FEMA, bypassing FEMA or even eliminating FEMA. Trump has ordered the Army Corp of Engineers to begin immediately rebuilding roads and bridges destroyed. He will be bringing money in directly to the state bypassing FEMA so they can start getting stuff fixed.
  • Trump sidestepped attending DAVOS in order to go there instead. The globalists are freaked out.
  • From there, they got back in the caravan and headed to the airport. We followed them all the way there on the highway in a continual live feed. There, some of the press and the first couple boarded Air Force One and we watched as the jet took off headed to LA.
  • Melania asked to come along with Trump to NC (and to LA because once there, you are along for the whole trip). Melania was in heavy gear and sunglasses standing in the mud with the people of NC. They were running about 45 minutes behind from listening to all the stories and taking so many questions. I think I saw Hegseth there as well.
  • They should arrive in LA in about 3 hours. From there, I think Bannon is going to pick up the live feed again on RAV News as the First Couple tours the Palisades then probably meets with Bass and Newsom, where he intends to have many tough questions about no water and firemen and trucks delayed hours while LA burned.
I'm guessing it won't be a conversation that Gavin will much enjoy.

W. took the slings and arrows and di nothing wrong as he was not there an hour later after the tragedy happened for the Progs. And talk about corruption in that city where billions in federal funds over years went "misplaced".

Katrina was an epic failure at the local level. And I don’t mean just the city gov. I mean the socialist sloth who didn’t have the wherewithal to evacuate a city that sits below sea level with five days notice. All democrat voters.
