While the production line was shut down while Congress was deciding whether or not the A-10 was going to be preserved, someone made a decision that cost the American taxpayer an enormous amount of resources.

It's ending up costing more than predicted. And it looks like they are going to have to reduce their squadrons down from 9 to 6 which really isn't worth keeping by 2025. The Rewinging is costly and slow. Meanwhile, ALL A-10s will run out of Airframe time starting by 2025 and all by 2032. The question remains, is it worth investing in such a short life AC with such a short mission statement.
