Its about time that he spoke out. Maybe it was the bombing of a church in Gaza that tipped him over the edge ?
The church was largely silent during the holocaust. They cant repeat that crime.
I wonder if anAmerican Pope will have more influence in Washington ? I would hope so.

and the clergy therein did not remain silent when the Holocaust. was going on. Pope Pius XII hid Jews in monasteries and in the Vatican.

Also, please note that this guy who is head of the Vatican is not the pope. That's because he is not Catholic (read some of what he's written), therefore he cannot be pope since only Catholics can be pope. People need to study what the Church teaches, namely that a non-Catholic (heretic/apostate) cannot be pope, that if he becomes a heretic after even a valid election, he is ipso facto deposed when he manifests his heresy (not just before anything is officially done about it, which nothing ever is...).

That's not to say this Leo guy is not right about this particular issue; maybe he is... I need to read up more on this. But he is not a real pope.
