Pope Francis: Don't suffocate migrants' hopes for peace | Daily Mail Online
by promoting Nagasaki as wrong, he is saying FU to the US
...
politicians who stoke fear of migrants were sowing violence and racism.

The Daily Mail? A UK 'paper - is it a reliable source? UK expelled its Jews back when, I don't remember if it was before or after it waged war on the Catholic Church, seized Church property, installed its own cardinals & bishops & priests & etc. Lives were lost, disrupted, property changed hands by violence. @ the level of individuals, it would be considered a mugging. @ the level of a state, it's considered policy - Realpolitik, if you like. (& of course, UK also basically warred on the Puritans, & anybody else - sacred or secular - who got in the way of the ship of state - ran them right down, & likely would still.)
Catholics in UK were in fact stripped of civil rights - not to the same extent as Jews, but still. & so again,
1. Why should anyone in the US care what a British rag has to say about the Pope or Catholicism in general?
2. We can argue the morality of US nuclear weapons in WWII back & forth, & we do. What does that have to do with this?
3. The same for Imperial Japan's war policy - it's a non sequitur to the question of migrant policy.
