I have voted locally for nearly twenty years. In all that time, the longest wait I’ve ever had was five minutes, and that was the election of 2012. Today, I had a wait of more than thirty minutes to vote. That is unprecedented. The poll workers all said this was very rare, not only for a midterm, but for any election including the Presidential.
I don’t know what happened after I left, but the Poll Workers were predicting no “dead” time.
Oh, and for the record, the last midterm election, there was NO line. None. Zip. I literally walked in and filled out the form, and presented my ID, and got my voting card, and walked to the machine. There were TWO other people with eight machines empty and waiting.
