Poll: Solid majority of Americans want Illegal immigration addressed and illegals deported

I guess I am one of the few that remembers when our southern borders were manned by people with nothing better to do than arrest and deport people without so much as a hearing. In 1970, we were setting at a table in a Truckstop when a border patrol came into the building and was checking IDs of anyone that remotely resembled a Mexican. The crew was there and the Spaniish American had his brother visiting who was under age for a drivers license. He was from North Dakota who didn't feel the need for mandantory state ids like in Texas. When the Border Patrol came to him, they asked for an id. He didn't have one. The Border patrol had in in handcuffs in a fraction of a second. And was calling for a transport. He was going to be deported. Yes, folks, a US Naturally Born citizen was being arrested. We weren't aware of how far the joke went but quickly learned to stop playing it. All of a sudden, we admitted that we knew him and he was one of our parties brother. And we admitted that he was from North Dakota. Had he been alone, he would have been handcuffed, arrested, transported and deported to Mexico. The kid couldn't speak a lick of Spanish.

This is where we are headed back to.
Where we are headed to now is blatant disregard and disrespect for our Nation’s immigration laws and processes resulting in overflowing immigration, drug and sex trafficking, and increase in crime. Our implicit Open Borders policy has failed and we are paying a price.

I guess you are omitting the fact that most illegals enter through the legal portals. It's easier (and oftentimes cheaper) to come in that way with faked paperwork. Same goes for drugs.

Why would I bring in a measly 40 lbs over the desert when I can bring in 10 tons as the bottom layer of a semi truck trailer.

I’m not omitting anything. You just laid out further how much our border security and immigration enforcement policies suck.

Yet you want to spend billions on stopping a small percentage of the illegals from entering. Walls just slow them down until they discover that you are putting such great faith in their effectiveness.

Americans are strongly supportive of President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to enact a mass deportation program upon taking office, a recent poll found.

The poll of 2,232 adults, conducted by YouGov on behalf of CBS News following the presidential election, found:

Deporting immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally should be a
High Priority: 45%
Medium Priority: 28%
Not a priority: 27%

So 73% of Americans want a high or medium priority on deporting illegals.

And here’s for the race obsessive woke people who want to make claims that it’s all white peoples fault:

A full 74 percent of white respondents said that deportations should be a high or medium priority of the Trump administration, while 70 percent of black respondents and 69 percent of Hispanic respondents agreed, displaying broad support for the initiative.

meanwhile:

57% of Americans would approve of Donald Trump “starting a national program to find and deport all immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally.”

And… Another poll via Rasmussen:

64% of American voters approve of the president-elect’s plan to “launch the largest deportation program in American history.”

As much as leftists whine, this is a significant issue that the public doesn’t agree with them on. You can see the ivory tower leftists in the media attacking the American public constantly as immoral for it.
Or 55% support not a priority or medium.

He can’t wait for dairy farmers and others to lose their workforce.

We can only go up from here.

Look at what Liberals were saying in 2006

I don't want to be one of those people who argues a different argument when it's my guy in power.

This op ed from Thom Hartmann agrees with MAGA when it comes to illegals and so do I. And if this is how we felt in 2006, why do we feel differently now?

If American companies need more workers they need to lobby Congress and the President and tell them they need more bodies. And if the government realizes we aren't having enough kids to replace retiring workers and they know it's going to hurt business, feel free to invite x amount of workers from countries that want to come here. Legally. And they enter the job pool and pay taxes like the rest of us. And employers can't pay them less than minimum wage or under the table.

This is one of the many areas where your Democrat party has radically sprinted to extreme ideologies… WAYYY out there.

The public saw this, and middle Americans said “ehhhh that’s too kooky”

Let's dissect this shall we?

1. You admit RINO's exist. These are the Republicans who hire illegals. Stop denying it. Trump is here to clean up the wrongs on both sides, right? So stop denying it.

2. Americans will do virtually any job if they're paid a decent wage. This isn't about immigration - it's about economics. Industry and agriculture won't collapse without illegal labor, but the middle class is being crushed by it. Not the corporations. They are benefiting from it.
3. Working Americans have always known this simple equation: More workers, lower wages. Fewer workers, higher wages.
4. Do a little math. The Bureau of Labor Statistics says there are 7.6 million unemployed Americans right now.
5. Meanwhile, the millions of American citizens who came to this nation as legal immigrants, who waited in line for years, who did the hard work to become citizens, are feeling insulted, humiliated, and conned.
You couldn't have read the op ed because most of it, is what you guys are saying now. You just don't like how he points out it was REPUBLICANS who did this to us. Just admit it. Trump beat those guys who did it. This is a new Republican party. CLEARLY. Because back when this op ed was written, this was our position. Bravo for stealing what used to be our position. Read the op ed and it was UNIONS who were warning us about the illegals Reagan and Bush were letting in.
Today, you got us because the far left has sanctuary cities and defends illegals. I get their point, but sorry, See number 5. People who came the right way say go get the fuck in line and get vetted. You can't just come here illegally. That must be the Democrats position moving forward, like it was during the Bush years.

Attacking the immorality of it becomes easier as it's actually enacted. Demogaguging and laying blame for people's problems on the poorest and most desperate people, rhetorically, is easy. Plenty have done it before and plenty will do it in the future. It's in the doing of it that this failure of a policy is revealed.

If you hear the stories, it makes you think twice about "kicking out all the illegals". Like the girl who's 17 going to high school and her mother smuggled her in when she was 3. They have to have a quick and easy way to make her legal and not disrupt her life.

Or, do we coldly callously just round em up and ship them out? If Republicans are cruel, I'm going to secretly laugh at all my Latino friends who didn't vote for Kamala. If the Hispanic community speaks out, fuck you. Debate each other. A lot of your Chicano brothers and sisters didn't vote or voted for Trump.

I posted an op ed earlier from the 2000s, written by a liberal, saying legal immigrants don't like illegals either. And I believe Hispanic voters proved that theory right this year.

49.7% is not a majority.
Stop the semantics. You guys claimed that Hillary won the popular vote and the majority and she only got 48%.

To resort to such nit picking to avoid accountability is pathetic… and.. it’s the latest democrat double standard

From 2020 to 2024, Trump gained 7% of the vote against the Biden/Harris administration.

That’s a huge swing, and a rejection of you
