No there's probably some smart ones in there, they're just not allowed to think outside of the box they've been place in by their surroundings, friends, or predispositions.

Fear of being called bad is what is the main drive of people seeking leftism.

That sorta makes sense in a sad way.

Young right-leaning people see a future for themselves and have to balance politics with working toward that future. That is why many are well into their late 20s or so before they start paying much attention to politics.....Usually it starts when they see how they are getting fucked raw by taxes and figure out why.

Young left-leaning people on the other hand are mostly of the listless/lazy types from the get-go and succumb to being easily recruited by older socialists that convince them that their laziness is not their fault and the producers of our country owe them something.

The greatest danger to democracy right now has emerged in one of our two major parties — a longstanding party that helped to protect democracy until recently, and this makes it hard for people to recognize what is going on. Finally, I think that most Americans now see politics through very partisan lenses and are mostly attentive to how their “team” is doing; they are much less likely to be thinking about the health of the basic pillars of democracy, e.g. electoral integrity, the rule of law, the legitimacy of the opposition, and the integrity of rights. Our political system is in crisis and we should be shouting from the rooftops about it and coming together to save it.
