It appears Putin doesn't believe America is strong enough and/or they see Trump being blocked by U.S courts and want to strike while he is dealing with issues on tariffs etc.

The Polish military’s Operational Command said in a statement that “ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest level of alert” after Russia launched massive airstrikes on Ukrainian territory.


“To ensure the security of Polish airspace, the Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces has activated all necessary procedures,” the statement said, adding that the Polish military is “fully prepared for immediate response.”


A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) posted on the US Federal Aviation Administration’s website said Warsaw Chopin Airport was unavailable “due to unplanned military activity related to ensuring state security.”


Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force said on the Telegram messaging app that drones were heading west and threatening the city of Zamosc in Poland, but the statement has since been deleted, Reuters reported.


It was not immediately clear how many drones were in Poland’s airspace.


Ukrainian media reported that at least one drone was heading towards the western Polish city of Rzeszow.

A flyover isn't an attack. I have literally seen Russian fighter jets outside my commercial airliner plane's window in the past (circa 9/11).

And we should be clear that it is not the Russian people that we would be fighting against, if WWIII happens to start tomorrow: It is that their leader(s) like Putin do not value human life. Call me religious if you want, but I prefer the label PRACTICAL.

The DoD has been renamed the DoW. If the stupid leftoid (communist influenced) would realize what the trigger for this is, they will stop bitching and start preparing like the rest of us. Free people will need to rise up and shrug this ... infestation ... that grows even on our own soil off from our backs.

We need to rapidly prepare for this new kind of war. And forget about all the bullshit that the present admin is shoveling. I think if Trump tries to ignore Article 5 if there is a full on war between NATO and Russia, he has to be removed. NATO kept the Soviet Union from further invasions of Europe, and the world needs to stand as one against those that would try to take land by force from other nations.

Interesting statement. I am researching my history book(s) [hard print and certified material, not ephemeral website data updated by anyone at all]...

First of all, the history book I have preserved is titled "America - Past and Present", 2nd edition, by Divine, Breen, Fredrickson, and Williams; copyright 1987, 1984 by Scott, Foresman and Company.

There is no mention of "America First" party at all. Unfortunately, this history book devotes only a mere 28 pages to WW2, including events between 1921 and 1945.

Then, like now, the prevalent fear was that if America became involved in any world conflagration, holy terror would be unleashed.

One interesting quote: "In March 1941, however, Congress voted by substantial margins to authorize the President to 'sell, transfer title to, exchange, lease, lend, or otherwise dispose of' war supplies to 'any country the President deems vital to the defense of the United States.'" This was after the January 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor.

This happened during the latest Russian attack across Ukraine, where the air raid began before midnight, with warnings of at least 100 drones in the air - and of Russia preparing missiles for launch.

Then, as Ukrainians took to shelters underground, the online channels that they watched began reporting several of those drones crossing into Poland.

They began writing in Polish, warning people there to take cover. “Chelm – to the shelters!” , “Zamosc – into the shelters!”

This feels like an escalation by Moscow - testing the West’s response. Because it appears its drones didn’t just stray into Poland.

They went deep enough for even Warsaw airport to be closed.

And it’s happening as the aerial attacks on Ukraine have become far bigger - and more frequent.

Then last weekend, a Russian missile hit the main government building here. Before that, the EU and British Council buildings in Kyiv were damaged.

Russian drones have crossed Ukraine’s western border before. A Russian missile even landed in a forest once, but didn’t detonate.

In 2022, two villagers were killed close to the border, apparently after Ukrainian air defence downed a missile. So the Polish air force now scrambles, whenever the threat gets close.

But they’ve never shot anything down before. So this is new territory for Poland – and for Nato.
