🚨 NEW: The Trump administration's DHS has just ended collective bargaining for TSA officers.

Can the TSA, they couldn’t keep a teenager from jumping over a fence with a gun to take over an airplane that passengers and flight crew overcame. Not to mention that every check of airports almost always shows that people can get guns into airports. If they choose to I can find the article if y’all want.

Government employees should have unions for the same reason civilian ones should.

And frankly, the last thing I want with the TSA is a bunch of people who hate their jobs because management sucks.
if they are as bad as the post office is than yea they need one.....

Just because an work site is unionized , doesn't mean that management doesn't suck.

And the reverse is true as well. Just because a workplace is Scab, doesn't mean management does suck.

The armed forces don't have unions for good reason and neither should civilians employed by the Federal government.

If they're too undisciplined to do their jobs, even if management sucks, then they have no business being in the job.

you never worked for the govt have you?.....undisciplined has nothing to do with it...

Reading is fundamental.

TSA had more people doing "full-time union work" than actually performing security functions at 86% of airports.
Plus, 60% of "poor performers" were allowed to stay employed.

I was in the Army for 23 years. The armed forces don't have unions.

If civilian employees don't like their job? They're free to quit and find something else. If management is substandard? The president needs to have the power to deal with that.

No, but Unions are a good protection against bad managers.

Bullshit.

I'd say the opposite. Most good managers don't want to deal with the hassle of "union work rules" and will prefer to work in a business friendly Scab environment.

the military is somewhat different than a civilian job...so you never worked in the govt as a civilian worker...management is pretty bad and there are some pretty fucked up people there.....

It's no different than any other government job.

No, government employees are covered by civil service rules. The only reason for public employee unions is to bribe management (politicians) to give them sweetheart deals. This would be a crime in the private sector.
Lot of good being covered by civil service rules has done them since Trump has taken office. Hasn't stopped him from stomping all over their worker rights.

Traditionally, government employees are treated well. My father used to call them "sweetheart unions". He was in the clothing workers union. That was tough and needed.
