Pete Hegseth refuses to meet with bearded soldiers in South Korea

Talk about petty...

American troops are not allowed to attend if they have shaving wavers.

Why? They have waivers so they are in compliance.

What is with these weird fetishes he seems to have?

Hegseth also issued a Sept. 30 memo stating the military would only issue facial hair waivers for troops with certain medical issues such as pseudofolliculitis barbae, a painful skin condition that’s made worse by shaving.

This was always the standard in the military. Unless you had a skin condition that made shaving painful, you had to be shaven. A mustache that didn't extend beyond the corner of your mouth was acceptable.

It is not unreasonable for the guy that implements a policy, to ban those from attending his events if they do not comply with that policy. Try to bear in mind, everything is political, and the press will be at his events. Thus, it is not an unreasonable policy.

Pete Hegseth believes that shaving waivers (actually known as "shaving profiles" at least when I was in), are abused and not needed in most cases. He will not waver on that.

Here endeth the lesson.

Next,he’ll mandate pomade,

Totally unreasonable. Either you recognized the regulation or you don't. Pseudofolliculitis is real. Yes, when young and dumb, I was a hard ass, insisting on shaving, anyway. But, you put troops in the field, for a couple of weeks, in the heat, the sweat, dust, diesel exhausts, and see them when they come out of the field, you learn better pretty quick. Then you look around and see, the only ones pushing that non-recognition of profiles, are usually just some racists sonsabitches. You simply do not discriminate against troops with medical conditions, not even for a photo-op. I was always Combat Arms. I did insist on very short, relatively close, even trim, but not so short, their skin turned like night of living dead, requiring sick call to treat, and I certainly did not discriminate against troops with legitimate medical conditions. Major Pete Hegseth is just a piece of shit.

The purpose of tight hair cuts and no beard relates with self defense when grappling , and for susceptibility to injury from flame .

The curly hair of blacks is such that clean shaving often resulted in ingrown hairs and keloid scarring , and so medical no shaving profiles are issued .

This moniker has not close shaved with a razor in years , optioning instead to use a clipper without a guard , which does not create raw skin .

The point made was that there would be no more shaving waivers except in very extreme and rare circumstances. Hegseth is reestablishing what once was standard military discipline--no beards, no long hair, etc. etc.

One of Patton's lines from the movie "Patton":

Gentlemen, from this moment, any man without leggings, without a helmet, without a tie, any man with unshined shoes or soiled uniform is going to be skinned.

WWII military protocol pretty much also outlawed any facial hair, including mustaches, except in extreme circumstances such as prolonged battle situations in which shaving was impractical.

Yes, all correct. I was in the Army from 1982 to 1993. I never saw a non-black soldier with a shaving profile, though I'm sure there have been some.

Anyway, Pete Hegseth is the Secretary of War, thus second only to Trump in a soldier's chain of command. Honestly, that ends any argument, unless Trump over-rules him.
