Why? Carrol is a culture guy who's seen it all. The Raiders need someone who can come in and change the way the franchise works, that's Carroll, Belichick, Tomlin etc. A Ben Johnson type guy would likely struggle to get that done. Carroll has the wasta to get good coordinators and deal with the GM and owner. Im surprised he wanted to take that on but based on his resume I dont doubt that he can.

My opinion is that Pete is too old to take on the Raiders.

I would normally agree with you for someone that age being hired on but in this case I dont,any other person other than carrol that age I would say that is a mistake but in this case i dont and here is why.

this is an excellent article, Especially the part on how his energy rubbed off on the players when he came in and meant them. carrol has the energy of someone HALF his age and it rubs off on the team,This is a good hire for the Raiders. Already Tom Brady as part owner is already paying dividends for them.
