Pete Carroll will no longer serve as Seahawks coach and will move into an advisory role. Carroll had led the team since 2010 and posted a Super Bowl win in the 2013 season.

No way would ownership have gotten rid of him if he didn't want to go. He has the energy of someone 20 years younger, that did not factor into this decision. The Wilson trade, and how well Geno played for him, showed what a great coach he really is.

Pete has been coaching a long time. There is more to life than coaching.

The NFL has watered down hitting from the defense over the years. So much so that mobile Quarterbacks have blossomed. So, the league is more offense oriented. People like offense anyway more than stodgy low scoring defensive games. Offensive head coaches have an advantage if they are creative. Defensive coaches need to be creative also. They follow on what offense does.

I think their beef started when Carroll was at USC and Harbaugh at Stanford. They are also just 180 degrees from each other personality wise and coaching philosophy I think.
