DC Police Chief Sund Stated:

She had a conversation months before the Jan.6 incident. Optic were discussed..BTW..kinda like all the bitchin' about the bad optics of the fences around the Capital. There is no way she, or anyone, could foresee Trump sending his minions to the building, while Congress was in session. She was talking about BLM riots spilling over into the area..and the optics of confronting black protesters with national guard.
