There will always be a minimum wage. By definition it is the lowest wage you can pay a worker. Most of you use it incorrectly.
What you are really discussing is a living wage, which means a wage rate that allows you to meet your basic needs. NOT the needs of a family or couple. It is meant for people that do not have skills yet. That are just entering the employment market. What is being suggested ($15/hr.), is not an entry level wage. Further it will keep most people needing a first job from getting one. Too little benefit of hiring that worker compared to the rewards.
You will simply create a larger divide of the haves and have nots Entry level jobs will become self serve ordering at fast food places, self check out at stores and online purchasing. Caring about people means giving them an entry level job and promoting those that are achievers.
