Prior to around 1965 there was no one who identified themselves as "Palestinians" in the sense of what the people of Gaza call themselves today. Prior to the mid 1960's it was a generic term for the people of the area, which included Arabs, Jews and Gentiles.

That is why you can't find any names of real leadership before Arafat, he was really the first leader of this new people.

Jews have David Ben-Gurion and Palestinians have no one. Egypt and in a smaller extent Jordan and Syria were involved in assuming leadership of Gaza. There is no King David or Moses of the Palestinian people prior to 1965.

Another thread on this? Ok, then why did Greek writers, 12 centuries before Christ, get credit for the name by the Jew edited Britannica?

The word Palestine derives from Philistia, the name given by Greek writers to the land of the Philistines, who in the 12th century bce occupied a small pocket of land on the southern coast, between modern Tel Aviv–Yafo and Gaza.

Palestine

And why did the Romans use Palestine only a few centuries later?

Weatherman2020 is exactly right. "Pal'istanians" as a national identity was the invention of Yassir "where's my welfare check" Arafat.

He tried to add an invented national identity to an invented people he so-named "Pal'istanians".

The Jews never existed. They are a complex illusion.

Versus the simple illusion known as global warming.

That was a data mining scheme

You're the one who is simple.

Why would it matter when a particular nation was founded? Surely you are not saying there is some magical number that means they suddenly become A Real Nation.

-- cuz that's way dumb, even for you.

Yeah, why are dates important when you can just accuse people of stealing from someone who did not even exist?

The Palestinian People were around long before 1948, you idiot propagandist. You read some Hasbara propaganda and then repeat it as if it's fact. Jerk off.

Yes, they represented the Magical Kingdom of Disney Pally'land that you believe existed as a sovereign nation.

You're delusional there, Laddie. But, what else is new.

Muslims and Christians, so what's your point?

Well it's not as if the Israelis existed before the late '40s.
Last I checked 1948 came before 1965

Oh, so THAT's your magic number?

Doesn't matter though. As pointed out, Palestinians have been around for a long time.

Really, this is a very dumb thread about a very dumb premise.
And you still have no answer for it because it's true. And it makes you foam at the mouth knowing it is true.

Your conspiracy theory about Arafat inventing Palestinians is funny, but it certainly cannot explain why Greek writers, 12 centuries before Christ got credit for naming it.

And isn't it Israel that gets the American welfare check to the tune of billions annually? Hasn't their welfare gone over ONE TRILLION US DOLLARS by now?

Yes, sweety, it has.

I'm afraid you have again attempted to use conspiracy theory as a means to defend your ignorance.

Like the rest of your convert cabal who have this quaint notion of an invented "country of Pal'istan", no such place ever existed.

Haven't your delusions damaged you enough?

Yes they have.

Two completely different people. Arabs, in the main, only began calling themselves "Palestinians" in the 60s for political expediency. Look at all the United Nations resolutions vis-à-vis the Arab-Israeli conflict and see when that body first refers to the Arabs as "Palestinians." (Even UN Resolution 181, the partition resolution, never refers to the Arabs as "Palestinians" but simply as Arabs.)
