I am making no judgement. I don't have the authority or insight to do that. What I can say is that all during the Ukraine thing the West blamed everything on Putin. I mean EVERYTHING. The war in Ukraine has now taken a back seat and I imagine we'll be hearing a whole lot of crap about Iran from now on.

That's not true. 1979 ended the hostilities Iran felt for the US. It became a clean slate and Iran has tried to make friends with the US many times since then. Any war footing from that point has been from the American side.
