Basically the FBI identified the incidents and then the OPP and RCMP got involved to help as the hacker was in Canada. He had impacted Canadian citizens and businesses as well, the dumb ass went after Alaska State data though, that brought in the big dogs.
CBC was running a joint press conference with the FBI, OPP and RCMP ad the FBI was pumping the tires of Canadian police. Not a good look, considering the fact that Canada is hardly a democracy, thanks in part to said police forces.
Do you guys just want to hand the world to China or do you think some discussion with Canada about their justice system and creepy, dishonest methods might be warranted (if you want allies who share your values)?
