"Young, single men are leaving traditional churches. They found a more ā€˜masculine’ alternative

Young, single men are flocking to the Orthodox church after discovering the ā€œmasculineā€ Christian religion through online influencers.

Some converts said they felt disillusioned with the ā€œfeminisationā€ of the Protestant church and were attracted to the ā€œauthenticityā€ of Orthodoxy, which they claim pushes them physically and mentally.

Priests are now planning to open new parishes to accommodate the ā€œtsunamiā€ of young men who have converted since the pandemic.

They say that most of the new converts found the Orthodox church by watching YouTube videos or listening to podcasts.

Matthew Ryan, a former atheist, found Orthodoxy after he saw a comment about good and evil on YouTube after ā€œhitting rock bottomā€. "

I think young men can see that the mainstream culture swerved left and is becoming more debased and evil under progressive control.

Recent elections in the US and Europe show that the voters have turned away from the Left's depravity.

They would love our church too. Not Orthodox in terms of worship style, but Reformed. IOW, Biblical. No women pastors, no women elders. Women CAN be deacons, but imo, this is a position suitable for women--hospitality, meals, etc.

I have never been in a healthier, more Christ-centered church btw. We've been there over 15 years now.

I'm glad you found your home. It sounds like a great church. I'm a Catholic myself.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

1 Corinthians 14:34

The rule-of-thumb is your whip has to be smaller than your thumb ... that's merciful ...

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

1 Corinthians 14:34
A wise policy.

Awesome, the church of misogyny is alive and well.

It warms my heart to see Christendom being smashed into fragments .
The sooner we are rid of the lies and corruption of the Abrahamic Cults , thev quicker humanity can develop and grow .
The next phase of the UFOs and UAPS in just a matter of days will really set the cat among the proverbial disease carrying pigeons .

So you say. If this were true, it could be proclaimed today.

One of the most misunderstood scriptures in the Bible.
Paul was referring to a specific church, where the women who were testifying in church were getting their information from a seer, instead of the Holy Spirit. It was THOSE women who were told to sit down and shut up. Prior to that, them testifying and prophesying was not a problem
By no means does that mean all women should be silent. Phoebe, Priscilla, Joanna, Mary, all did missionary work.

Some of the thread dialogue reminded of this, as I'd seen it earlier.

The bow has broken for Protestant churches. Most have embraced woke ideology. All are led by the lies of Martin Luther and the Calvinists.

Worst are the ā€œnon-denominationalā€ churches, which is just paganism.

I have an aunt and uncle that go to one. Their pastor is a gay man with a ā€œhusbandā€ and this last Christmas they had the entire congregation show up to church in their pajamas. Absolute lunacy and heresy.

LOL

Mithraism had a trinity, a ceremonial mass of eating bread and drinking blood, celebrated the birth of Mithras on Dec 25th when people "made merry" and exchanged gifts and seven sacraments that Catholics follow identically.

Mithraism was an ascetic anti-female religion. Its priesthood consisted of celibate men only.

Mithraism was the secret very manly :auiqs.jpg:Babylonian MYSTERY RELIGION of the Roman government and military

You bunch of insecure twits.

A more masculine alternative - that is interesting. As an atheist - for lack of a better word - I am fascinated by the religious. There are so many varieties and they vary so much. We were out to an Amish area over the weekend in Pennsylvania and they are interesting as they live a life that is simple. I'm not sure what they believe comes next but it doesn't matter so long as they have a good life.

I'm Orthodox Christian since 2008, and I can tell you our church has over 100 catechumens right now (people seeking knowledge about Orthodoxy), and many of them are young, single men. Young families are also being drawn to Orthodoxy, after seeing what children are being exposed to in public schools and in corporate media.

There's definitely a surge in interest. In the past, we've had maybe 20-30 catechumens at any given time. Our church is looking at building another campus to accommodate the growth.

Good to hear. Sadly, the new pope is a red.

"Numerous archaeological finds, including meeting places, monuments, and artifacts, have contributed to modern knowledge about Mithraism throughout the Roman Empire.[c] The iconic scenes of Mithras show him being born from a rock, slaughtering a bull, and sharing a banquet with the god Sol (the Sun). About 420 sites have yielded materials related to the cult. Among the items found are about 1000 inscriptions, 700 examples of the bull-killing scene (tauroctony), and about 400 other monuments.[4](p xxi) It has been estimated that there would have been at least 680 mithraea in the city of Rome.[8][full citation needed] No written narratives or theology from the religion survive; limited information can be derived from the inscriptions and brief or passing references in Greek and Latin literature. Interpretation of the physical evidence remains problematic and contested.[d]"

* Mithra was born on December 25th. Called "Birthday of the Unconquered Sun", it was incorporated into the church in the 4th century AD as the birthday of Christ. Although Jesus was born in October, christians today celebrate Mithra' birthday, believing it was Jesus' birthday.

* Mithra' birth was witnessed by shepherds and by Magi (the root of the word magician) who brought gifts to his sacred birth-cave of the Rock

* He was considered a great travelling teacher and master.

* He had 12 companions or disciples, which in Mithraism were represented by the 12 astrological signs.

* He performed miracles.

* He was buried in a tomb.

* After three days he rose again, but with no witnesses to the event

* His triumph over death and ascension to heaven were celebrated at the Mithran's most important festival, Easter, held at the spring equinox when the sun rises toward its apogee

* Mithra was called "the Good Shepherd."

* He was considered "the Way, the Truth and the Light, the Redeemer, the Savior, the Messiah."

* In the cult's rituals, Mithra was identified with both the Lion and the Lamb.

* His sacred day was Sunday, and was called "the Lord's Day" hundreds of years before the appearance of Christ.

* Mithraism had a Eucharist or "Lord's Supper" in which bread was eaten as a symbol of Mithra' body, and wine was drunk as a symbol of the blood shed when Mithra overpowered and killed the bull

* Mithra performed many miracles, including raising the dead, healing the sick, making the blind see and the lame walk, casting out devils.

* Mithra was said to carry keys to the kingdom of heaven.

* Mithra was called the god of light and truth, the god of mediation between god and man. He was to his worshippers The creator of life; The Mediator between man and the higher gods; The God of light; The All-seeing one; The Guardian of oaths (covenants); The Protector of the righteous in this world and also in the next.

* A trinity godhead comprised of Mithra (divine god of truth), Rashnu (divine god of justice, judgement and righteousness), Vohu Manah (divine spirit of enlightenment). These three persons were separate yet they were one.

Before returning to heaven, Mithra was said to have celebrated a Last Supper with followers, who represented the twelve signs of the zodiac. In memory of this, his worshippers partook of a sacramental meal of bread marked with the Mithran cross of light. This was one of the seven Mithraic sacraments, believed to be the models for the Christians' seven sacraments, which follow them identically. It was called mizd, latin missa, English mass. Mithra' image was buried in a rock tomb, the same sacred cave that represented his mother's womb. He was withdrawn from it and said to live again.
