The Agatha Christie adapted remake Murder on the Orient Express tarring Johnny Depp and Daisy Ridley has people talking about the peculiar new age appeal of cinema.

Has media changed the way we think about customs/crime?

"A handsome young recently-married couple named Daisy and Daniel boarded a European train in the summer of 2018 to enjoy the fruits of their work-life labors with a much-deserved train-ride vacation (which was their honeymoon). Daisy and Daniel didn't know there was a group of bandit/criminals on their train which would make their voyage much more exciting."

"All around the world, films had become social symbols of daydreams and imagination, so the Euro-train that Daisy and Daniel were riding naturally offered in-voyage cinematic entertainment --- Woody Allen's fame-sardonic Celebrity starring Leo DiCaprio. Daisy and Daniel enjoyed the film presentation on their Euro-train."

"A journalist working for the Daily Planet (NYC) was on the same Euro-train as Daisy and Daniel and brought a video-camera to record the train-ride for his special culture-documentary about humanity's love of movies. This journalist, Jimmy, was linking society's love of drive-in movies with a general social appreciation of cinema. Jimmy was recording the train-ride and sending the live video-feed to his Daily Planet office...to his office co-worker."

"As Jimmy filmed the Euro-train ride, he took shots of Daisy and Daniel enjoying dinner in the meal-car as the bandits/criminals on board planned a daring heist, since a number of the passengers on the train were aristocrats carrying fat wallets and fancy jewelry."

"A retired Scotland Yard detective named Sherman was also on that same Euro-train and was watching the romantic couple Daisy and Daniel with great interest and thinking sentimentally about his own ex-wife Samantha who divorced him because of his workaholic nature. As Sherman subtly/romantically spied on Daisy and Daniel, the bandits/criminals on the train prepared for their in-train heist."

"As Jimmy filmed the train passengers in the meal-car enjoying their dinners, the bandits/criminals began their daring heist, taking money and jewelry from all the passengers. Jimmy's live video-feed reached his journalist co-workers at the Daily Planet in NYC, and they sent the video to CNN which began broadcasting the 'live train robbery' on American TV! It was a crazy experience, and CNN news-woman Christiane Amanpour commented, 'This live broadcast of a train-robbery has people wondering if media has revolutionized the nature of participant civics'."

"All across America, people tuned into CNN (it was Saturday night) and watched Jimmy's recording of the live train-robbery of Daisy and Daniel's Euro-train. It was a media 'circus.' CNN reported that this live broadcast of the train-robbery revealed the power and value of modern media in keeping pedestrians at pace with real-life news. Couples across NYC watching TV at home on Saturday night remarked that the 'dads of the world' had 'financed' this great media achievement, making news akin to true society enlightenment."

"As expected, sales of TVs would soar across the next few months, as more and more Americans wanted to be sure they didn't miss another 'media joyride' broadcasted on live TV on CNN and elsewhere. It was the Age of TV, and social pundits wondered if Jimmy's live train-robbery broadcast of Daisy and Daniel's Euro-train would boost sales of the remake film Murder on the Orient Express."

TRUMP: Hopefully, the bandits/criminals on Daisy and Daniel's Euro-train won't be 'deified.'
CARTER: Yes, there's no intelligent reason to glorify crime; Daisy and Daniel are celebrities.
TRUMP: Yes, Daisy and Daniel will be romanticized as 'exciting witnesses' to the crime.
CARTER: It's intriguing how media and photojournalism has 'spiced' up TV/news.
TRUMP: This is the Era of CNN.
CARTER: Media makes for great 'pedestrian folklore.'
TRUMP: Fortunately, the Euro-train bandits/criminals were apprehended.
CARTER: And Daisy and Daniel returned home safely...
TRUMP: They should make a movie about Daisy and Daniel on that Euro-train.
CARTER: Yeah, "Videodrome: Honeymoon on Hell-Train" (director: Sam Mendes).
TRUMP: Are you a fan of Woody Allen's fame-vignette film Celebrity?
CARTER: I appreciate how that Allen film characterizes our modern hypnosis with media.

CARTER: It will certainly add spice to Saturday night gossip about 'honeymoon hijinks.'
