This should be a no brainer. If a local government detains an illegal alien on a felony charge, immigration officials should be called. For all of those on the left screaming about the tactics of ICE and decrying the events in Minneapolis, this is yet another example of how all of that is YOUR fault. ICE wouldn't be making these raids in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and other "blue" cities if your party was cooperating with the federal government on this issue. Instead, you turn these people loose back into the community where they can continue to be a dangerous element on your streets harming your own voters.

SALEM, Ore. - Senate Democrats have blocked a proposal aimed at increasing cooperation between state law enforcement and federal immigration authorities. The proposal targeted illegal immigrants convicted of felony crimes.

The Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) would have been allowed to track immigration information and coordinate with federal authorities. This would enable federal officials to decide whether to take custody of individuals after serving their sentences.

Oregon’s sanctuary state laws have limited such coordination for decades. Senate Republican Leader Bruce Starr criticized the rejection, emphasizing the importance of public safety.

"This is as common sense as common sense gets," Starr said. He expressed concern over releasing violent felons without federal notification.

The LIBs seem to forget we fought a civil war to defince who was in charge and the Federal GOV won.

IMHO it is going to get to the point where the FEDS use all the tools at thier disposal.

Like putting the DEM leaders in jail (same way the break a strike) Fed the National Guard and put tanks on the corners.

If it real bad there will be Martial Law. I have read about it and I don't think a lot of people understand it.

KEY aspects of Sherman's use of martial law include:
  • Foraging and Destruction: Sherman’s Special Orders No. 120 authorized troops to "forage liberally" on the countryside, effectively placing occupied areas under military control for resources.
  • Civilian Removal: In 1864, Sherman ordered the complete evacuation of civilians from Atlanta, essentially enforcing a military-run zone, Wikipedia notes.
  • Controlling Occupied Territory: Sherman believed in using total war to make civilians feel the "hard hand of war," which involved governing occupied territories through military might rather than civil authority.
Suppression of Dissent: He authorized the arrest and deportation of civilians supporting the Confederacy, even threatening to hang individuals in occupied territories.
